“Boxing Us” presents a metaphorical boxing match between the analytical and intuitive thought processes. Creativity is often a self-destructive process where logic and emotion are conflicting forces. This is depicted in the video with the filmmaker playing the role of a boxer who is tormenting and then beating himself.

The boxer is presented against monochromatic, low-contrast scenes from contemporary life that range from a carnival ride to a decrepit building to a discarded Styrofome food container covered with ants. Those images represent the “boxing ring” that the fight takes place within.

"Boxing Us" was first presented in the Ybor Festival of the Moving Image in Tampa, Florida April 2003. It was also in the 10th Annual Indepedents' Film Festival on the Education Channel, Cable 18, Tampa Bay area, Florida, July 2003. The video was also the feature presentation at "Points of View" an art-interactive series at the Gulf Coast Museum of Art in Largo, Florida on July 19, 2003.

"Boxing Us" was selected as the winner in the 2003 Experimental, Professional Independent category in The Education Channel’s Tenth Annual Independents’ Film & Video Festival. The festival featured national and international filmmakers with awards given in five categories ranging from animation to documentary in student and professional levels.
