The Volusia County Art in Public Places program wanted four paintings that depicted youth working with farm animals. I drove around rural areas and took pictures of kids with their livestock. I really enjoyed going on to the farms and meeting the kids. It was a new experience to paint these type of images and farm animals. The large scale of the paintings was fun to work with. They're so wide they're like movie screens.  When you're near them you have to turn your head from side to side to take it all in. When I painted them, it was like being within the landscape.
